Seeing that I did a Mothers Day version on Mothers Day it’s only natural that I do one for the Fathers on Father's Day right?Well, here goes! There are many fathers in the Bible but whether some are good or not is left for interpretation. I will share what I learnt studying some of the fathers in the Bible. Jethro Exodus 18: 9- 25 Jethro was a good father in law who saw Moses as one of his own. He brought his daughter and grandchildren to Moses and it was during this visit that he observed...
Happy Mother's Day! And if you're not yet a mother like me and you desire to be one in the future just smile awkwardly, say Amen and keep it moving (like I have been doing) :P. Mother's Day is a great time to reflect and show thanks to anyone who has shown you motherly love whether biological or otherwise. Because being a mother is more than just biology. I thought it would be cool to look at some mothers in the Bible and some lessons I got from them. Rebekah Genesis 25:28; Genesis 27:5-10 We...

Early on in October my youngest sister turned 13 and it took me back to when I was 13. It's hard to believe that she is now beginning her teenager years. Time flies. I decided to write some advice that I wish I knew when it was my time but those are some of the cons of being the oldest. You go through the challenges, so the others don't have to. Sometimes. In any case here is some advice to my sister and anyone else who is on the cusp of their teenage years. 1. Know yourself Ok ok, you will not...
Hey everyone, it's been a while but for good reason which will be revealed in a much later blog post. This one however has been stewing for a while and was inspired by a conversation that I had with a friend over how certain behaviours can affect relationships-platonic or otherwise. Family, love them or hate them (hopefully not) they are filled with different characters that provide us with lessons very early on in life. If utilised properly one can learn quite a bit about society as a whole...

Let's say you meet a nice guy who 'ticks all the boxes', somewhat. He's a Christian, just not a 'deep' one but at least he's a Christian so that'll suffice right? Wrong. Now, I am not saying that if you are not a Christian you do not have morals because that is just not true. There are some awesome individuals who are cool, lovely and nice who are also not Christians. My thing is it all depends on what you place value on. For some, having a generic understanding of Christ, observing the bible...
Hey everyone! How's it going? It's been a while but here I am lol. Before we continue this post will not be like my typical travel posts as it was a different kind of trip :) So, 2017 was the year that I first went to American-Houston, Texas to be precise! I went for my cousin's wedding which was great! My trip was a real whistle-stop tour (5 days) but I know that I'll be back for more ;) It'll be my second time staying in an air bnb on my travels and this one was ok. Prior to going to Houston...

One of the things I’ve always loved about the Bible is that there are different types of women in it. From wives to prostitutes and much more they are all there and I find it beautiful because it shows that there is nobody that God deems ‘unworthy’ of His love and forgiveness. I was reading Genesis 21:10-14 but as I was reading it something struck out to me. Is it fair to say that Hagar was the first single mother in the Bible? What makes it ‘worse’ is that God seemingly allowed it to...
Hey all! So, last week I touched briefly on adoption. Whilst watching the programme I realised something else too. As you well know adoption can happen almost immediately from birth or later on in life. Now I’m not too sure about this but I think it is fair to say that a good amount of people favour adopting babies or very young children. This is understandable I guess. What I realised when watching this is that it somewhat can be akin to how it is when we know God.
